Oxford Civic Chorus, located in Oxford, Mississippi, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1998. The choir gathers for weekly rehearsals, performs two concerts a year, and is available to sing at local events.

Mission and Vision

Our mission: Inspiring singers, enriching community and expanding musical horizons.
Our vision: Provide a musically rigorous, rich, singing community; make quality choral singing and meaningful musical experiences accessible to all, and keep them thriving as an art form for the community.

Conviction

We believe the world is a better place when people sing together. OCC rehearsals and performances offer a special experience where people with differing socioeconomic, political, racial, and religious perspectives gather to encourage, enjoy, and do something meaningful together. A vibrant community chorus unites diverse people across cultural and political divides.

Membership Experience

We want our members to feel they are part of a thriving choral community. Excellent participant experience is a priority in our weekly rehearsals, which are both rigorous and joyful. Singers enjoy the mental and physical benefits of being part of a choir where they feel valued, challenged, and supported.
